Violet CannonWhen I was asked to write my life story with Shannon I was so worried.  How could this none Gypsy woman help me show the rest of society how I viewed life with the eyes of a Gypsy?  Would I get lost In the translation?  But Shannon and I sat down and she really got to know me.  She made it easy for me to be honest and just let my story flow.

She's a warm, open person who made it easy for me to send her alterations.  Mainly simple things that had been heard through the ears of a Gorga woman and just needed the Gypsy meaning put back into it.

Writing my book was more than just making my story heard.  Coming from the most racially hated group In the UK, there was so much more at stake than my story being mistold! I had the weight of opening the doors to my culture to a world which widely didn't trust or like it.

Shannon wrote as I spoke and people who know me have said its as though they can hear me talking in their heads as they read.  Shannon not only captured my story, she captured my community and my essence.  And planted it beautifully in the pages of Gypsy Princess.

Thank you for everything Shannon x

Your Story Write Now Clare Brown

I just wanted to share my story to give others hope that cancer can be beaten.  Shannon was very easy to talk to; caring, sensitive and understanding. I was delighted with the finished article as it gave a very accurate account of my experiences, although it was a little strange to read my story and reflect on everything that had happened to me.

I would have no hesitation in dealing with her again, giving people strength and hope by sharing my story.

(Claire Bown, her story was published in The Mirror and Pick Me Up magazines)
